When Google surprised everyone with a purchase of Motorola last year, industry watchers eagerly awaited a Motorola Nexus. And waited. And waited some more. Well, folks, Google CFO Patrick Pichette may make you wait even longer, with a quote that is as surprising as it is infuriating.
"[Motorola’s future products are] not really to the standards that what Google would say is wow — innovative, transformative".”
Yes, even Google is unimpressed with Motorola’s recent products, the bizarrely-named Droid RAZR M and the Droid RAZR Maxx HD. The company has been stuck “draining 18 months pipeline” of existing Motorola products before it can make its own “promising” hardware, which is presumably the inevitable (?) Motorola Nexus device. A year and a half isn’t too far away, right?
