This is big news: Facebook has updated it’s iOS and Android Messenger app to include free voice features, including the ability to leave voice messages ala Voxer and to call Facebook users ala Google Voice and Skype. Though voice calling has a limited roll out in Canada for now, the update could soon be available in the US and other markets soon. With a large swath of Facebook users (definitely bigger than that of Google Voice and Voxer), it’s very possible that Facebook could have a VOIP hit on its hands. The only downside? Anonymous prank calling just got a lot harder.
