Apps, Reviewed: Astrid Helps Your New Year’s Resolutions

image

With every new year comes some new promise for self-improvement. People want to start working out more, eat better, or to finally achieve their dreams and meet Emma Watson. Unfortunately, those resolutions tend to fall by the wayside after a couple of months (days?) and Emma Watson is never met in person. Fortunately, Astrid is here to make things come true. A free app on the App Store, Astrid is a simple to do list manager for iOS, Android, and the web that allows for easy and sharable task making. With options to prioritize items, push notifications to remind you what you need to do, voice dictation, and the ability to repeat certain tasks, Astrid’s features prove to be deceptively powerful and motivating. If there’s only one minor downside, it seems that cloud syncing tasks across devices seems a little slow. Still, Astrid is one of the best to do managers we’ve seen on the iPad, beating strong competition from the likes of Wunderlist and the Remember the Milk.  Now, excuse us while we work on buying a plane ticket to Britain to meet a special certain somebody.
