Techblitz Recommends: the Best of the Internet

The internet is a bountiful place, full of hilarious videos, unintentional spelling errors and fantastic gifs. Only few, however, can earn the prestigious Techblitz Seal of Approval.  Yes, continuing in the tradition of emulating Oprah, I’m cataloguing our favorite things on the internet! Have a recommendation? Leave it in the comments and we might just include it!

JANUARY 2012

THE MIND OF DANNY TANNER-

There’s something inexplicable about Full House YouTube mocks; how can you make fun of a show that has no self respect to begin with? Thankfully, this video takes the lawless, humorless world of Full House and wraps it in a tragic, hilarious bow.

RUNAWAY CART

Car accidents are no laughing matter, especially so when clowns crash their clown cars. However, this runaway cart  has a certain level of class compared to your standard clown car pileup. This gif is like human bowling, only without the shoes or the 80’s atmosphere! Nothing like a runaway car to show how bowling lanes are severely outdated!

BANG!

What can I say, I’m a sucker for the dog gif! However, this gif is put into the top echelon of internet gif-ery (?) by running all the necessary bases to be popular on the internet.  It has a dog, a cut dog action and it loops forever until you’re put into a hypnotic trance. If this doesn’t brighten your day, you very may well be what we call an “enigma.” Seek consultation from your nearest medic or dog shelter immediately.

HONEY BADGER

This very well be one of my favorite Youtube videos, and it really isn’t hard to see why! The narration is almost too mind-blowingly fantastic for its own good and the titular honey badger gives his best performance to date; his bee hive performance is Emmy worthy. This is a tad NSFW, unless your line of employment includes looking up snake deaths and a few swears. If that is the case, we envy your job. Put in a good word with the boss, okay?

UNFORTUNATE WIKIPEDIA BANNERS

Look, Wikipedia is invaluable to any denizen of the internet; when you need to know how many times Nicholas Cage has sold his soul for money or whether Dick Cheney is in fact the devil incarnate, Wikipedia has got your back. Their latest pleas have gotten a little outrageous, though: Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, has posted his intimidating mug shot all over Wikipedia pages. His mug shot isn’t the only cameo, though, as several gender diverse photos of Wikipedia’s programmers have appeared. It really is amazing at how open ended this meme can truly be! Nothing says humor like cat ladies, that’s for sure.

PARTY IN THE USA, CHOPPED AND SCREWED

Sorry Miley, but this song trumps the original in everyway. This “remix” lowers the vocals similar to that of a potential bank robber, slurs the speech to appear as if Miley was drunk at this party and loops the best parts to give the full effect of being at a college keger. Party on, Miley!

SPLITSIDER

imageI’ll be the first to admit to admit that we’re the lover of the absurd; Conan O’ Brien, absurd Community episodes, and the most insane Full House episodes make us laugh in the oddest, most discomforting way. Thankfully, Splitsider caters to the absurd. More than that, they catalogue the best sitcom episodes, great humor pieces and the best comedy history available. If it’s funny, then Splitsider will have have it.*Splitsider may or may not have it.

ACTUAL CANNIBAL SHIA LABEOUF

Wow, I don’t even know what to say about this. Just watch this video, and if you don’t get it, you don’t get it. But when it clicks, man, IT PIERCES YOUR SOUL WITH LAUGHTER. Like, I was rolling on the floor laughing when I watched this. Literally on the floor, in a fit of confusion and sheer insanity. Now, cross twice and follow the link, lest you be followed by superstar cannibal Shia LaBeouf. OH GOD HE’S HERE
